Comparison

Wrap vs Paprika

Paprika has been the answer to "what should I keep my recipes in" for over a decade, and the ratings show it. It is fast, it is finished, it syncs everywhere, and you pay once rather than forever.

These are not really the same product. Paprika's own description of how recipes get in is a built-in browser you use to clip pages from the web. Wrap is built for the case where the recipe was never on a web page — it was said out loud in a Reel. Which one you want depends almost entirely on where your recipes come from.

Which should you pick?

Pick Paprika if your recipes come from websites and cookbooks, you want to pay once and never think about it again, or you need Windows or Android. It is a better recipe manager than we are.

Pick Wrap if your recipes come from Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts or Reddit, and the saving is not the problem — the folder of three hundred unwatched Reels is.

Plenty of people should use both, and that is a real answer rather than a diplomatic one. Paprika as the long-term archive, Wrap as the thing that catches what you see on your phone.

Questions

Can Paprika import from Instagram or TikTok?

Paprika's own site describes importing through its built-in web browser — you browse to a recipe page and save it. Social video is not something it advertises. Check their current feature list rather than taking a competitor's word for it, ours included.

Is Wrap cheaper than Paprika?

Today, yes — Wrap is free and Paprika costs a few dollars per platform. Over years that may well reverse once we have a paid tier, and a one-time purchase is a genuinely good deal. We are not going to pretend otherwise.

Can I move my recipes between them?

Not directly. Wrap copies any recipe to your clipboard as plain text, which you can paste into Paprika, but there is no bulk transfer in either direction.

Does Wrap have a meal planner?

No, and it is out of scope rather than upcoming. Wrap does saving, shopping lists and cooking. Paprika plans.

Wrap has no ratings. Why should I trust it?

You have less reason to than with Paprika, and that is simply true today. Wrap is free, so the cost of finding out is an evening rather than a purchase.
