Where ReciMe beats Wrap
- Android. ReciMe runs on it and Wrap does not. If anyone in your house is on Android, this decides it and nothing below matters.
- Scale and track record. Hundreds of thousands of ratings against our none. That is a real signal and you are entitled to weight it.
- Meal planning and grocery lists across a week. ReciMe plans. Wrap has a shopping list but deliberately does not do meal planning — it is out of scope for us, not a feature quietly in progress.
- A mature feature set. Years of building shows. If you want the app with the most in it, that is ReciMe.
Where Wrap beats ReciMe
- Your saves are private by default. This is the difference we would most want you to notice: on ReciMe's free tier, saved recipes are public. In Wrap everything you import is yours and visible to nobody else, on every tier.
- Imports are not rationed. Five imports a week is a constraint you feel on the evening you sit down to catch up on a month of saved Reels. Caption imports in Wrap are unlimited.
- Free, against $59.99 a year. Wrap is free while we are new. A paid tier is coming and we are not pretending otherwise, but nothing you have already saved gets taken away or locked.
- Export without paying. Copy any recipe to the clipboard as plain text, or send someone a shareable card they can read without installing anything. In ReciMe, export is a premium feature.
Which should you pick?
Pick ReciMe if you need Android, want a real meal planner, or want the reassurance of a very large user base.
Pick Wrap if you are on Apple devices, you import in bursts rather than five at a time, and you would rather your recipe collection not be public.

Is ReciMe's extraction better than Wrap's?
On the same video, expect comparable results. Both read captions, transcribe audio, and read text on screen. Treat them as equal on that and decide on the things that actually differ.
Are my ReciMe recipes really public?
On the free tier, saved recipes are public — that is ReciMe's own documented behaviour, not our characterisation of it. Check their current terms before you rely on either answer; this is the kind of thing that changes.
Can I move my recipes from ReciMe to Wrap?
Not automatically. There is no bulk transfer between the two apps. You can re-import from the original posts, which is tedious with a large library, and we would rather say so plainly.
Will Wrap stay free?
No — there will be a paid tier. Anyone who creates an account before the founding cutoff keeps unlimited caption imports forever plus a permanently larger media allowance.
Does Wrap do meal planning like ReciMe?
No, and it is not coming. Wrap does the saving, the shopping list and the cooking. If a week-at-a-time planner is what you want, ReciMe is genuinely the better buy.
